The Summit will begin immediately following the closing of SYNChronicity 2018. The purpose of the Summit is to allow THRIVE health departments to:

  • Share implementation successes and challenges.
  • Recognize promising practices in HIV prevention, care, behavioral health, and social services for MSM of color at risk for or living with HIV.
  • Propose plans to adapt local programming to enhance services for MSM of color.

At the conclusion of the Summit, the HealthHIV team will develop content based on the discussion to include in a Promising Practices/Lessons Learned document about the THRIVE initiative.

The Summit will be conducted in a facilitated roundtable format. Service topics covered will include: engaging MSM of color in programming and services; implementing three site extragenital STD screening; implementation of fourth generation lab-based HIV screening; models of health navigation; and integration of employment and job training. Participants should bring with them, or have knowledge and/or access to, programmatic materials in these areas for discussion.
